Abstract
Spread The Sign (STS) is a multilingual and multimodal online dictionary of 44 European and Extra-European sign languages, including Italian Sign Language, which can be accessed on com-puters, smartphones, and tablets. It documents more than 600.000 signs in videos. STS has both an educational impact, contributing to improve the language competence of deaf and hearing persons in both vocal and sign languages, and a cultural impact, spreading the knowledge about sign languages and representing the first large-scale documentation of the culture of signing communities in Europe and beyond.
