Abstract
This paper focuses on a comparative analysis of the six existing Italian translations of the Greguerías by Ramón Gómez de la Serna (1888–1963), all of them realized by a different translator and spread in a period going from 1930 to 2010. The comparative translation analysis of these six translations highlights how the diachronic evolution of the target language, the sensitivity of the translator and the type of recipient affect the final product. Likewise, some characteristics of the greguería such as brevity, humour and the ludic effect that the author raises through rhetorical figures of thought and language demand from the translator a careful lexical selection and the use of specific techniques in order to reproduce the immediacy of the image that the greguerías evoke.
