Abstract

This paper presents a qualitative and quantitative corpus-based analysis of the Italian non fare che construction. The contribution outlines the semantic-pragmatic values of the construction and demonstrates that such values are encoded by different abstract schemata which are related to each other in a hierarchically organised cognitive network of constructions.
